Bubbleflux Series: buying guide

The Bubbleflux LED wall sconce family creates a bold surface of light with its 12 cm wide metal body and solid, bubble-effect acrylic candles. There are three models: single Bubbleflux, twin Bubbleflux Dubble and Bubbleflux Trio, offered only at 51 cm. Single and Dubble come in 31, 40 and 51 cm, all 4 cm deep. Body colour is gold, silver, anthracite or black; light is warm light, white light or RGB. Among BACKHOME sconces, RGB light and remote options exist only in the Bubbleflux family. Below: model differences, size choice and where RGB and the remote apply.

In short: Bubbleflux is a family with a 12 cm wide, 4 cm deep body. Single and Dubble come in 31, 40 and 51 cm; Trio only in 51 cm. The battery model has 4 battery slots and ships with 1 × 9V battery. The remote is hardwired-only, and RGB comes with the remote-controlled hardwired option.

What does the Bubbleflux design look like?

Bubbleflux pairs a wide metal body with solid acrylic candles visible on both sides, leaving a broader surface of light than the slim series. When lit, the bubbles in the acrylic sparkle; even at 31 cm, the 12 cm body reads as a distinct object.

  • Wide body: 12 cm wide and 4 cm deep; barely projects from the wall.
  • Bubble-effect acrylic: Solid, double-sided decorative candle.
  • Three light options: Warm light, white light and RGB.
  • Four battery slots: On the battery model, you change batteries less often.

What is the difference between single, Dubble and Trio?

All three share the 12 × 4 cm profile and the same body and light options; they differ in acrylic layout and sizes. Dubble takes its name from the two clear acrylic tubes in its body. Trio is the family's triple model and comes only in Large; compare the look in the product page photos.

Which Bubbleflux size fits where?

31 cm usually suits low ceilings and bedheads, 40 cm hallways and corridors, 51 cm living room walls and above a sofa or console. With its wide body, Bubbleflux looks bolder than a Bubblelight of the same size; on a small wall, consider one size down.

How do RGB and remote-controlled Bubbleflux work?

With RGB, the sconce lights in white, red, blue, green and yellow; colour changes and dimming are done by remote. Here is which option comes with which power source.

  • RGB: Only on the hardwired, remote-controlled option; five colours plus dimming.
  • Remote with warm or white light: Offered on the hardwired model; you control the single-colour light by remote.
  • Battery: No remote; works with an on/off switch.

RGB light sets a colourful mood in a games room, teenager's room or entertainment corner; switch back to white for everyday use. See every remote-controlled model together on the remote-controlled and RGB sconces page.

What are the four battery slots in battery Bubbleflux for?

Battery Bubbleflux has 4 battery slots; it ships with 1 × 9V battery, and filling the other slots means changing batteries less often. Battery life depends on usage and brand. The battery model has 12 LEDs, the hardwired model 18. Hardwired Bubbleflux runs on 110–220 V mains, needs no bulb or adaptor and connects to the wall line; have a qualified electrician connect it and switch off the fuse first. The brand recommends hardwired for continuous use. For a full comparison, read our battery or hardwired guide.

How do body colour and light colour pair up?

Choose body colour by the room's metal details and light colour by how you use the room; on a wide body the pairing shows more clearly.

  • Gold and warm light: Warm harmony in wood, beige and cream living rooms and bedrooms.
  • Silver and white light: A crisp look on grey, white and marble-effect modern walls.
  • Anthracite and warm light: Soft contrast on concrete-effect or dark grey walls.
  • Black and RGB: A dark frame that lets coloured light stand out in a games corner.

For tone by room, see our warm light and white light guide.

How is Bubbleflux mounted?

Bubbleflux fixes with 2 screws and wall plugs; on the hardwired model, the sconce sits over the wall outlet. After marking, check for cables and pipes with a detector before drilling. In most homes the sconce centre sits 150–170 cm from the floor, or 120–150 cm at a bedhead. For a pair, choose the same model, size and colour and measure from the centre of the object between them. Wipe acrylic and metal with a dry, soft cloth.
