Remote Control and RGB Sconces

Remote Control and RGB Sconces: buying guide

A remote control RGB wall light lets you change the colour and brightness of the light by remote, without reaching for the wall. At BACKHOME this option exists only in the Bubbleflux family: the RGB model offers white, red, blue, green and yellow light plus remote dimming. Hardwired single, Dubble and Trio models offer a remote option, including fixed warm light or white light with a remote. All remote models connect to the wall wiring. Below: the options, colour ideas and installation.

In short: Remote RGB sconces exist only in the Bubbleflux family and only as hardwired models. The RGB model has five colours (white, red, blue, green, yellow) and remote dimming. Warm and white remote variants are also available. Battery models have no remote.

What is a remote control RGB wall light?

It is a wall sconce that mixes red, green and blue LEDs into different colours and lets you choose them by remote. The same wall can be warm yellow at dinner, dim blue on film night and red on a birthday. BACKHOME RGB models use the wide 12 cm Bubbleflux body; light passes through the double-sided acrylic candle and the bubbles spread the colour across the wall.

  • Colours: White, red, blue, green and yellow on the RGB model.
  • Dimming: On the RGB model, the remote dims and brightens the light.
  • Power: All remote models are hardwired; Bubbleflux runs on 110–220 V mains.
  • LEDs: Hardwired Bubbleflux has 18 LEDs (9×2), with no bulb or adaptor needed.

Which light and remote options are there?

On Bubbleflux, light colour, remote and power are chosen together. The table shows the combinations on the product page:

Choose the light colour first, then remote and power; selecting RGB makes the model remote-controlled and hardwired. For what the remote does on the warm and white variants, check the product page or ask us.

Which colour suits which setting?

How you are using the room decides: calm tones for everyday use, vivid colours for special moments. These pairings are a starting point.

  • White: A crisp tone for daytime and early evening alongside the room's other lights.
  • Yellow: A warm, soft setting for dinner, guests and conversation.
  • Blue: A dim backdrop in the TV corner for films, series and gaming.
  • Red: A vivid accent for birthdays, New Year and celebrations.
  • Green: A different touch for a plant corner, hobby space or teenager's room.

When the RGB sconce is on with the ceiling light, a calm colour such as white or yellow keeps the room balanced. Our warm light or white light guide covers light colour by room and when RGB makes sense.

What does remote dimming do?

Dimming lets one sconce serve as both bright ambient light and a dim night light. Lower it as the film starts, raise it when guests arrive, or leave the hallway sconce low late at night, with no need for a second light on the same wall.

Dimming comes with the RGB model. Controlling the light by remote means adjusting it from the sofa, the bed or your seat facing the TV. Before installation, also discuss with your electrician whether the sconce will be on a wall switch.

How is a remote sconce installed?

As a hardwired model, it connects to the wall wiring; have a qualified electrician do it with the circuit switched off. The order is:

  1. Choose the spot: Try the sconce on a photo of your wall with See it in your room; the photo is processed only in your browser and never sent to a server.
  2. Prepare the line: With no sconce point, wiring comes first; with an existing point, the electrician removes the old fitting.
  3. Connect and fix: With the circuit off, the connection is made and the sconce is fixed with two screws.
  4. Test: Restore power and try every colour and dimming level with the remote.

Connection routes for your wall and safe use are covered in detail under hardwired sconces.

Which heights and body options are there?

Remote and RGB models come in 31, 40 and 51 cm with a body 12 cm wide and 4 cm deep. Body colours are gold, silver, anthracite or black; the slim depth keeps even a hallway clear.

Every option in the family, including models without remote and battery models, is on the Bubbleflux series page.

Frequently asked questions

How many colours does the RGB model offer?

Five: white, red, blue, green and yellow. You pick the colour by remote and dim or brighten the light the same way. This option exists only on hardwired remote models of the Bubbleflux family; other series offer warm or white light.

Does a remote sconce run on batteries?

No. All remote models are hardwired and connect to the sconce point on the wall. Battery models have no remote and switch on and off with the button on the body. Without wiring on the wall, either have a line installed or choose a battery model without remote.

Can the light be dimmed by remote?

Yes, on the RGB model the remote dims and brightens the light. The same sconce can be bright ambient light in the evening and a dim light late at night. For what the remote does on warm and white variants, see the product page or ask us.

Can I choose just warm or white light on a remote model?

Yes. Hardwired Bubbleflux offers warm and white light with a remote too. These variants suit you if you do not want colour changes but do want to control the light from your seat. Choose them with the light colour and remote options on the product page.

Which rooms suit an RGB sconce?

RGB sconces are used most in living rooms, TV corners, games and hobby rooms and teenagers' rooms, where changing the colour by time of day and activity livens up the décor. In bedrooms and hallways, most people prefer a fixed warm or white tone.

Which heights do remote sconces come in?

Single and Dubble models come in 31, 40 and 51 cm; Trio comes in 51 cm only. All have a body 12 cm wide and 4 cm deep. Body colours are gold, silver, anthracite or black, and the images change with your choice.

A remote RGB sconce turns one wall into light that suits every hour of the day. Choose the height and body colour, then select RGB as the light colour on the product page; the remote and hardwired connection come with that choice.
