The Aura LED wall sconce filters light through bubbled acrylic cylinders onto the wall, with a body made of five vertical acrylic columns. Tiny air bubbles inside the clear cylinders refract the light, so when lit, a shimmering pattern of light and shadow forms on the wall. Aura comes in two sizes, Medium 39 cm and Large 56 cm, both 12 cm wide and 5 cm deep. You choose the body colour (silver, anthracite or black), light colour (warm light or white light) and power source (battery or hardwired). Below: both sizes, body colours and how Aura looks on different walls.
In short: Aura is an LED sconce with five vertical columns of bubbled acrylic. 39 cm suits bedheads, hallways and corridors; 56 cm living room walls, stairs and high ceilings. The hardwired model has 30 LEDs. Body colours are silver, anthracite and black; Aura has no gold body.
Five clear acrylic cylinders stand together vertically; light passes through the bubbles inside each one and leaves a filtered pattern on the wall. A glossy-finish metal body holds them together. Switched off, the bubbled acrylic reads as a decorative object; switched on, light and shadow spread across the wall.
39 cm sits in better proportion with low ceilings and narrow walls, 56 cm with wide walls and high ceilings. Both are 12 cm wide and 5 cm deep.
| Size | Dimensions (H × W × D) | Suitable wall and room | Ceiling height |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aura Medium 39 cm | 39 × 12 × 5 cm | Bedhead, beside a hallway mirror, corridor, study | 240–270 cm |
| Aura Large 56 cm | 56 × 12 × 5 cm | Living room wall, above a sofa or console, stairwell | 270 cm and above, duplex and stairs |
In most homes the sconce centre sits 150–170 cm from the floor, or 120–150 cm at a bedhead, with at least 40 cm between its top and the ceiling. For stairs and pairs, see our wall sconce height and placement guide.
Aura suits spaces where light should read as a wall pattern: living rooms, hallways, corridors, bedrooms and offices.
Aura has three body colours: silver, anthracite and black. For a gold body, look at the Bubblelight, Bubbleflux or Matrix series.
Aura's standard light is warm light, with white light as an option. Warm light gives the bubbles a warm sparkle, white light a sharper pattern. For tone by room, see our warm light or white light guide.
With no line in the wall, choose battery Aura; for long daily use, choose hardwired. The hardwired model has 30 LEDs, runs on 110–220 V mains, needs no bulb or adaptor and connects to the wall line. Have a qualified electrician connect it and switch off the fuse first. The battery model uses an on/off switch and a 9V battery, with 1 battery supplied. Battery life depends on usage and brand; the brand recommends hardwired for continuous use. Both fix with 2 screws; check for cables and pipes before drilling.
Aura stands apart with its five-column layout: Bubblelight has a single slim body, Bubbleflux a wide body, and Matrix a longer rod design. Aura is 12 cm wide like Bubbleflux, but as light passes through five separate cylinders, the pattern on the wall is more broken up. Aura has no remote or RGB; for those, see the Bubbleflux family. To see Aura's pattern on your wall, try it with the light on and off in See it in your room; measure exactly with a tape.
Two: Medium 39 cm and Large 56 cm. Both are 12 cm wide and 5 cm deep. 39 cm usually sits better in low-ceilinged rooms and at a bedhead; 56 cm on a living room wall, on stairs and in high-ceilinged spaces.
No. Aura comes in silver, anthracite and black. For a gold body, look at the Bubblelight, Bubbleflux or Matrix series. If you combine Aura with a gold series in one room, placing them on separate walls keeps the colours balanced.
Hardwired Aura has 30 LEDs. They are integrated, so no bulb or adaptor is needed and there are no bulbs to change. The hardwired model runs on 110–220 V mains and connects to the wall line. We recommend a qualified electrician and switching off the fuse first.
No, the Aura series has no remote option. The battery model uses an on/off switch; plan switching for the hardwired model with your electrician when connecting the line. To dim by remote or use RGB colours, see the Bubbleflux family with its remote-controlled hardwired options.
The clear acrylic cylinders hold tiny air bubbles. LED light refracts as it passes through them and the cylinders sparkle; as light leaves five columns, a filtered pattern of light and shadow forms on the wall. The pattern varies with wall colour and texture.
Aura mounts with 2 screws; check for cables and pipes with a detector before drilling. On the hardwired model, the sconce sits over the wall outlet. To clean, wipe the metal body and acrylic cylinders with a dry, soft cloth, and avoid abrasive cleaners.
