The difference between Bubblelight, Bubbleflux and Aura starts with the body: Bubblelight is just 4.5 cm wide, while Bubbleflux and Aura are 12 cm wide. Bubblelight and Bubbleflux shine through a solid, bubble-effect acrylic candle; Aura uses five upright cylinders of bubbled acrylic. Bubblelight and Bubbleflux come in 31, 40 and 51 cm, Aura in 39 and 56 cm. All three have battery-powered and hardwired models; RGB light and remote control come only with hardwired Bubbleflux.

In short: Choose Bubblelight for narrow walls and hallways, Bubbleflux for wide walls, double or triple designs and coloured light, and Aura for a five-column pattern of bubbled light. Gold bodies come in Bubblelight and Bubbleflux, not in Aura. For large walls under high ceilings, consider the 58 and 63 cm Matrix series too.

What is the first thing that sets the three series apart?

Body width and acrylic shape come first: they decide whether the sconce reads as a fine line, a broad surface of light or a broken pattern.

  • Bubblelight: 4.5 cm wide, 5 cm deep. A solid bubble-effect acrylic candle shows on both sides of the slim metal body and draws a fine vertical line when lit.
  • Bubbleflux: 12 cm wide, 4 cm deep. Its broad body and bubble-effect candles leave a fuller surface of light; it comes as single, Dubble and Trio.
  • Aura: 12 cm wide, 5 cm deep. Tiny air bubbles in five clear acrylic cylinders refract the light into a pattern of light and shadow.

All three have metal bodies, acrylic light bodies and built-in LEDs, so no bulb or adaptor is needed.

How do the three series compare on size and options?

How do the lengths affect your choice of series?

Bubblelight and Bubbleflux share three lengths and Aura has two; ceiling height and the furniture below decide which fits.

  • 31 cm: bedsides, bedside tables and low ceilings of 240–260 cm.
  • 39–40 cm: entrances, hallways and mirrors; Aura's 39 cm and the 40 cm Medium sizes are nearly equal, so the body decides.
  • 51 cm: living room walls, above sofas and consoles, and ceilings of 260 cm and above; Bubbleflux Trio comes only in this length.
  • 56 cm: Aura Large only; high-ceilinged living rooms, stairwells and double-height spaces.

A wide body looks larger than a slim one of the same length, so on a small wall try one size down. Leave at least 40 cm above the sconce; for heights and spacing, see our guide to wall sconce height.

How do the single, Dubble and Trio Bubbleflux models change the choice?

All three share the 12 × 4 cm cross-section and the same colour options; Dubble adds a double layout with two clear acrylic tubes, and Trio a triple layout in 51 cm only. Bubblelight and Aura have no such sub-models.

  • Single: a versatile start for bedsides, entrances and hallways.
  • Dubble: in 31, 40 and 51 cm; a bolder look on wide walls above a sofa or console.
  • Trio: 51 cm only; for wide walls, high ceilings and stair landings.

Compare how each model looks in the photos on the Bubbleflux series page.

How do power, light colour and remote options differ?

All three offer battery-powered and hardwired models with warm light and white light; RGB and remote control come only on hardwired Bubbleflux.

  • Battery-powered: a 9V battery and an on/off switch, one battery included; Bubbleflux has 4 battery slots. None has a remote.
  • Hardwired: 110–220 V household power, no bulb or adaptor, connected to the supply in your wall by a qualified electrician with the circuit breaker off.
  • Hardwired with remote: Bubbleflux only, with warm, white or RGB light.
  • RGB: white, red, blue, green and yellow, plus dimming from the remote.

According to the product details, Bubblelight and Bubbleflux have 12 LEDs on battery and 18 hardwired, and hardwired Aura has 30. LED count alone does not measure brightness, and with no comparable light output published, we do not rank the series by it. See our battery or hardwired guide and the remote-controlled and RGB sconces page.

Which series suits your room and wall width?

Bubblelight suits a narrow strip of wall, Bubbleflux or Aura a wide one; how you use the room decides the rest.

Narrow walls, hallways and beside doors

On 30–60 cm strips between a door frame and a corner, or between two windows, 4.5 cm Bubblelight sconces never look crowded. At 4 to 5 cm deep, none of the three series narrows a hallway.

Living rooms, above sofas and consoles

On a wide wall, the 12 cm body gives a fuller area of light: Bubbleflux Large or Dubble as a focal point, Trio under a high ceiling. For light that reads as a pattern, a pair of 56 cm Large sconces from the Aura series frames a sofa or console.

Bedrooms

At the bedside, a 31 cm Bubblelight or Bubbleflux Small, or a 39 cm Aura, gives calm evening light; fit a matching pair and add a reading lamp.

Games rooms and teenage bedrooms

For coloured light in a games room or a teenager's bedroom, choose hardwired Bubbleflux with a remote: RGB in the evening, white for everyday use.

How do you match the body colour to your decor?

Match the body colour to the metal and wood details in the room rather than the wall; Bubblelight and Bubbleflux come in four colours, Aura in three.

  • Gold: suits warm wood, beige and cream walls, and brass or gold handles and frames. Bubblelight and Bubbleflux only.
  • Silver: blends with cool white or light grey walls, marble-effect surfaces and chrome. All three series.
  • Anthracite: sits quietly on concrete-effect or dark grey walls and in simple, industrial schemes. All three series.
  • Black: draws a clear line on a pale wall and pairs with black metal furniture and light wood. All three series.

Keep one series, length and colour per wall, and a shared body colour across walls. For light colour by room, read our warm light and white light guide.

Where does Matrix fit into this comparison?

Matrix is the next step up in length: Matrix 8 is 58 cm and Matrix Melodi 63 cm, both 12 cm wide and made of bubble-effect acrylic rods. Both are hardwired only, with a gold or silver body, warm or white light and no remote option. According to the product details, both have 48 LEDs, and Matrix Melodi arrives assembled and ready to mount. For a single focal sconce in a high-ceilinged living room, a stairwell or a large wall in a hotel, cafe or office, see the Matrix series.

Which one should you choose? A decision list

Choose Bubblelight for a narrow wall, Bubbleflux for coloured light or a remote, and Aura for a bubbled pattern of light. Common situations:

  • A narrow wall beside a door or between windows: Bubblelight.
  • RGB light or a remote: hardwired Bubbleflux, with an electrical supply in the wall.
  • No supply, but a wide body: battery-powered Bubbleflux or Aura, both without a remote.
  • A double or triple design: Bubbleflux Dubble or Trio.
  • A pattern of light and shadow: Aura.
  • A gold body: Bubblelight or Bubbleflux.
  • A 39 or 56 cm length: Aura only.
  • 58 cm or longer: Matrix.

Choose the body by wall width, the length by ceiling height, then power, light and colour; the choice usually narrows to one series.

Frequently Asked Questions

How wide are Bubblelight, Bubbleflux and Aura?

Bubblelight is 4.5 cm wide; Bubbleflux and Aura are both 12 cm. Depth differs slightly: Bubbleflux is 4 cm deep, Bubblelight and Aura 5 cm. The slim body leaves a fine line on a narrow wall, while the 12 cm body reads as a clear object.

Which series has RGB light and a remote?

Only the Bubbleflux family, on hardwired models; RGB always comes with the hardwired remote option. Bubblelight and Aura have no remote, and every battery-powered model works with an on/off switch instead. If you want a remote, you need an electrical supply in the wall.

Does Aura come in 31 or 51 cm?

No. Aura comes only as Medium 39 cm and Large 56 cm; 31, 40 and 51 cm belong to Bubblelight and Bubbleflux. The 39 cm Aura is close to the 40 cm Medium sizes, and the 56 cm Aura suits anyone wanting a little more than 51 cm.

Does a sconce with more LEDs give brighter light?

Not necessarily: LED count alone does not show how bright a sconce is. The product details list 12 or 18 LEDs for Bubblelight and Bubbleflux and 30 for hardwired Aura, but no comparable light output, so we do not rank them. The acrylic and the wall colour also shape the light.

Which series come with a gold body?

Bubblelight, Bubbleflux and the Matrix models come in gold, while Aura comes in silver, anthracite and black. If you combine a gold series with Aura in one room, put them on separate walls, or choose silver, anthracite or black, which both series offer.

Can you use different series in the same room?

Yes, but not on the same wall. Keep one series, length and colour per wall: for example, a pair of Aura sconces on the sofa wall and a Bubblelight on a narrow corner wall of the same living room. A shared body and light colour keeps the room coherent.
